March 1909. I'd had enough of Washington. Taft would be fine, probably better off without me hanging around. So Kermit and I set off for the opposite of Washington, a place unworn of man, where we could wake beneath the splendor of new stars: Mombasa, Kenya. The morning after making camp, we came upon four water buffalo, the largest standing just outside the others. It was clear he was tough of hide and tough of heart.
You couldn't bag a charging water buffalo with our Roosevelt Buffalo Leather Briefcase Bag in dark oak. But you can bag a looming deadline or that presentation to your investors. Handcrafted from full-grain water buffalo hide with a brown canvas-lined interior, genuine brass and iron hardware, and YKK zippers, this dark oak leather briefcase carries itself the way Roosevelt did: rugged but refined, purposeful, and built for the long haul.
At 16 inches long, 10 high, and 8 wide, it holds a 15-inch laptop in a padded sleeve with room left for files, a charger, and a change of shirt. A flap cover with brass buckles closes over the zippered main compartment, an exterior buckled pocket and zippered pocket keep the quick-grab items up front, and the adjustable shoulder strap or top handle carries it from the office to the gate. Dark Oak is the deeper, more uniform brown in the Roosevelt lineup. It ages with quiet character, deepening rather than lightening.

"Beautiful bag, solid construction. I prefer the more rugged, adventurous style over some of the more minimal messenger bags. There is enough space for my work essentials (pens, laptop, portfolio) along with a water bottle and smallish lunch.
