The Jefferson Modern Briefcase in Elderwood Brown is full-grain cowhide finished with a hand-rubbed wax pull-up — the kind of leather that catches light differently in the morning than it does at five, and reads better at year five than year one. Antique brass hardware. A herringbone lining that opens like the inside of a good suit jacket.
Set into the leather, the gold Jack Andrews woven shield — small, deliberate, the only mark the bag needs. A maker's signature, the way the old houses used to do it.
Two zippered compartments rather than a single buckled flap — open either side without setting the bag down. One holds your laptop in a padded sleeve up to fifteen inches. The other holds your tablet, with room left for legal pads, a book, the papers you'd rather not fold. A leather grab handle for the walk to the car, an adjustable padded strap for the longer days, removable when you don't need it.
An heirloom your grandfather would have been proud to carry. One day, your grandson will be.

"Great bag. The leather is thick yet supple. The lining is perfect for protecting a laptop and the other organizers are well thought out. The zippers are high quality as you would expect and I had no issues with snagging on any part of their track. The leather shows just a bit less grain on my bag than the one pictured, however the color was almost exactly the same. This is a great value at this price point."
"I originally purchased this in November and loved it. Around February or March the zipper broke and the company offered to send me a new bag. In between my purchase and replacement, they must have changed suppliers, because the new bags are awful. The leather looks frumpy and does not hold its shape. The zippers are loud and a struggle to move. I normally love Buffalo Jackson and own several duffle bags, a bomber jacket, and a different briefcase. I’m very disappointed to say the least. This bag is not up to their normal standard."
