The Jefferson Attaché in Elderwood Brown is full-grain cow leather, hand-finished with a wax pull-up that lightens at the corners and darkens along the spine — the way a good case wears the miles. Just under sixteen inches end to end. Two inches deep. Lined in wool herringbone, the kind of interior you'd find in a tailored jacket. Antique brass YKK hardware that closes with a clean, dry click.
Set into the leather, the gold Jack Andrews woven shield — small, deliberate, the only mark the bag needs. A maker's signature, the way the old houses used to do it.
Two zippered compartments hold what the day requires: a fifteen-inch laptop in a padded sleeve on one side, files and a notebook on the other. The middle pocket closes magnetically, for the papers you'll need before the wheels are up. Double leather handles for the walk through the lobby, a padded shoulder strap for the longer corridors, removable when the room's a short one.
The case you carry through Heathrow on a Tuesday and into a meeting on Wednesday. Light enough to forget you're holding it. Composed enough that the man across the table notices anyway.
