If you look closely, you’ll see them in old faded photographs of men out west riding horses, sometimes even motorcycles. Nowadays, they’re seen cruising around in a vintage land rover.
These “riding jackets” were form-fitting for one thing, and they always fall a little below the waistline. As to that first aspect, you don’t want to lose body heat, so you keep the coat close. As to the second, when you ride, you sit, and a longer hem ensures your backside stays covered.
We designed our Wesley Wool Jacket with those two factors in mind: it fits close to keep you warm, and should you find yourself riding, for example, well, we’ve got you covered. We added the element of wool, that classic cold-weather fabric, for a trifecta of a jacket.
