"Stiff, solid, perfect, but not a bag for the faint-hearted."

I travel a ton on business and have gone through way too many messenger bags the past decade. What begins in style elsewhere usually ends in disappointment. And then I found this. This Buffalo Jackson bag is perfect, but only if you can handle a bit more weight under the strap and stiff leather that protects things. This is what your great-grandpa would have used if he were a cowboy who needed gadgets that connect to the internet.

"Beautiful bag — will last 10+ years."

Needed something well made and professional looking to haul my laptop to work and back. The leather is a beautiful color and is put together extremely well. Cannot get over the quality and feel of this thing, down to the inside fabric and the heavy-duty zippers. Selling points for me were the simplistic design and the magnets that hold the flap closed — I didn't want a bunch of buckles or snaps.

"Perfect for a 15" MacBook."

Whenever you spend hard-earned money online you are never 100% sure of the quality, but I was very pleased when I received my bag. Shoulder strap is comfortable, bag is sturdy and well made, internal padded compartment is a perfect size for my 15" MacBook, lots of room — holds everything in the picture plus the MacBook and a slender HydroFlask thermos.

"My husband uses it daily."

I bought this for my husband 4 weeks ago. He loves this bag. He uses it daily to work. In his own words, "this bag gives me the expensive and sophisticated look." Good quality. Color is perfect. Size is just right for day-to-day office use. My son hinted that he wants one for graduation after seeing his dad's.

"I ordered several and kept this one."

I actually ordered several of Buffalo Jackson's messenger bags before settling on the Roosevelt Satchel (and returning the rest). All were constructed of beautiful leather with quality craftsmanship. I ultimately chose this one because of the marriage of size and features. This is my first leather satchel — the Roosevelt provided ample storage space inside while not weighing too much on its own.

"Work bag upgrade."

Absolute banger of a bag. The craftsmanship is superb — top-notch leather, sturdy stitching, and the kind of detailing you only find in high-quality goods. It's a little bigger than I expected, but that turned out to be a bonus, with lots of pockets and compartments that make it incredibly functional. It has a luxe yet rugged feel.

"Stands upright on its own."

Couldn't be happier with the product. Laptop fits perfectly. The bag stands upright on its own. Enough room for paperwork, writing instruments, etc. Just the right size. Comfortable over the shoulder. Very rugged construction. This is the second item I have purchased from Buffalo Jackson; previously, a duffel for my son-in-law on his PhD graduation. Customer for life.

"Solid product, a few quibbles."

I love my new bag and expect to get many years of use out of it. A few minor quibbles. The strap passes through a rectangular metal loop where it attaches to the bag. But if you're carrying the bag with the strap diagonally, the strap pulls and squeaks. It would have been better as a D-shaped ring rather than a rectangle.

"Great service when shipping went sideways."

I had purchased this bag for a Christmas gift for my husband. The bag is well made, sturdy, and able to hold its shape and stand on its own. Getting it was the adventure because of my error — my shipping address was autocorrected. Buffalo Jackson called me back and my email was answered. They handled it.

"Could become favorite bag."

The look is great. The leather is very thick but is starting to soften a bit and the color is exactly what I expected. The construction seems sturdy. Everything fits and more for the busy professional, father, son and husband on the go.

"Functional, fashionable, affordable."

Exactly what I needed for work. The leather is durable, the handles and strap fit well, the pockets are appropriately sized. Other bags of this quality leather are easily $100-300 more expensive, unless you're looking at a cheaper knock-off on Amazon, made in an undisclosed location.

"More discreet than it looks in the photos."

Like other Buf Jackson products, better quality than expected for the price. Beautiful leather, soft sueded interior, great fittings. More discreet than it looks in the photos. Quite narrow, easily fits a laptop or paperwork but not both in quantity. Has worked well for my office use.

Gave the Roosevelt messenger and the quilted Highlands jacket to my youngest son who just started working as an IT sales rep in downtown Chicago. The first day he wore it to work he got so many compliments — from random people on the train and at work. Even his hiring manager complimented how handsome he was with the jacket and the bag.

Bought this bag as a college graduation gift for my son. Just a beautiful bag made of the highest-quality leather. Great feel and color. Hardware is also excellent. Perfect size for what he needs. Order was fulfilled in just a few days.

I've purchased many products like this online and they always look great in the picture but when they arrive they are flimsy. Not this bag. Sturdy leather. Holds its form. Great interior pockets. And did I mention that new leather smell?

Absolutely the highest-quality computer bag I could have hoped for. The craftsmanship is outstanding. It looks great, stands up on its own most of the time, and is ideal for the daily commute. May not be large enough as a carry-on by itself. But for every-day use, it is perfect.

Perfect for my business use. Carries everything I need when going into the office and looks substantially better than a nylon bag. The organization and size help prevent you from accumulating unneeded items as can happen with backpacks. So well built I am sure it will last my whole career.

Beautiful craftsmanship, pricing is comparable to other online retailers for a much better item with actual finished edges and the features I was looking for. The leather is thick and of good quality, the stitching is sturdy and clean.

"Bought it for my son and now I want one."

The bag is so amazingly well-made, and the leather is just beautiful and completely unblemished. The smell was just heavenly. I was nervous buying something like this online, sight unseen, but the videos and photos helped. I bought it for my son as a college graduation gift and now I don't know if I'm going to be able to not give it to him.

"Perfect travel bag."

The perfect bag for traveling around town or catching a flight. Beautiful aesthetics, great craftsmanship, and functional design. Holds my laptop, small binder, headphones and other carry-on essentials comfortably.

"From a $15 backpack to this."

I've been using a $15 backpack for the last 4 years. I needed a more professional bag that also allowed me to jam random things in it in a business and rustic context. I'm so happy I waited for this limited edition. Perfectly heavy-duty and tough, as well as soft enough to be comfortable. How I use it: 13" M1 MacBook Air — extremely safe and padded spot. Buffalo Jackson padfolio — fits perfectly. All my tech peripheries fit in the extra zippers.

"The bag of a lifetime."

I searched for months, debating and comparing between models, materials and companies. I wanted to buy a bag that would be timeless in design, fitting for all applications and built to hold up for decades. I think I found it. The bison leather is thick, rugged yet smooth and will break in over time to be better. The bag is not light — it's well made, well stitched, and the general appearance screams "this ain't fake stuff."

"Top-notch, rugged, ready for a lifetime."

I've procrastinated for years on investing in a high-end leather messenger bag for work. This one was worth the wait. The craftsmanship and stitching is top-notch. The leather is sturdy and thick, and it has a beautiful and unique pattern. My only disappointment was that my laptop was just slightly too large for the sleeve — but at this point, I'd rather replace the laptop than let go of this bag.

I pondered whether to spend the money on this messenger bag but I am extremely glad I did. The bag is better than the description states on the website. I read other reviews about it being too big but the measurements are listed in the description — it's not too big. Too heavy? Nope. Very well made.

This was an investment, but the bag is substantial and roomy. Photos are completely accurate, and the leather smells wonderful. I am a sizable person, so this fits me fine, but if you are smaller, you might want to choose something smaller — it's pretty big and a little heavy. Overall, absolutely terrific.

The bag is very nice. But watch out if you were ordering from Canada — not only did I pay $50 for shipping that was supposed to take 7 to 10 business days, it ended up taking over two weeks and being held at customs. Guys — best bag I've ever owned. Pictures don't do justice as to how much storage this thing actually has inside. Well worth the investment.
