The longer you live the more you realize how valuable a seasoned guide can be; someone who’s been around the block, someone a little older with some scars and if you’re lucky, a little scandal thrown in to keep things interesting. I felt this way when considering a clothing line that would find inspiration from the men of our past. We stand on the shoulders of the men who have gone before us, and I knew I needed help. Like I said, he needed to be someone older, maybe even men from a different time.
I didn’t look for a perfect man because that’s the illusion New York fashion is built on. No, I wanted flesh and blood men who’d suffered destruction but never defeat. Men who knew the weight of criticism but shouldered it with grit and determination. Their stories weren’t always pretty but since when did that become the goal for a man’s life? Yeah, I didn’t think so either. Here they are in no particular order, these five men embody the spirit of Buffalo Jackson.
