After Yellowstone's second season, the show's team reached out to us. They asked for hats, t-shirts and some of our leather goods, pieces with the potential to end up on screen. We sent what they asked for, and this hat was in the box.
We did not know where any of it would land. Then the flag cap showed up on Tate Dutton, and it kept showing up. It stayed with him through the rest of Yellowstone, and it is still on him in Marshals.
That is the whole story. No licensing deal and no logo swap. A production asked a small company in North Carolina for a few things, and one of our hats became a character's hat.
Which hat does Tate wear on Marshals?
On Marshals, the Yellowstone spin-off that follows Kayce Dutton into the U.S. Marshals, Tate is played by Brecken Merrill. When he is outside on the ranch, the cap on his head is very often this one: the Green/Grey buffalo flag hat, worn over a denim jacket and a flannel, sometimes with ear protection clamped over the top.

Why the buffalo
The bison on the patch is the one from the Wyoming state flag, a white buffalo on a blue field. It is about as plain a symbol of the West as there is, and plain is the point.
We named this company after the animal. The buffalo represents something we care about: grit, staying power, a kind of quiet pride that does not need to explain itself. A hat with nothing on it but that bison says enough. It is no surprise to me that it ended up on a ranch kid in a Taylor Sheridan story.
