EXPLORE OUR SUITE OF MEN’S OUTERWEAR

Leather Jackets & Vests

More than just a piece of clothing, a leather jacket tells a story. Our vintage style leather jackets give any outfit a classic, rugged aesthetic. And the more you wear it, the better it looks and feels – that’s because we craft our leather jackets and vests using various types of high quality leather including lambskin, sheepskin, and cow leather. Each type of leather offers distinctive properties including texture, appearance, and how the leathers are processed.

Our men’s leather jackets and vests include western vests, bomber jackets, motorcycle jackets, and more. Not sure where to start? Check out our leather jacket buying guide for some helpful advice on this classic staple of men’s outerwear.

Waxed Canvas Jackets & Vests

Waxed canvas takes all the best features of regular canvas and then adds even more advantages. The wax coating amps up the wind resistance, repels water, and even ages beautifully. Like high-quality leather, waxed canvas looks and feels better the more you use it – it even develops a fine patina over time.

Our waxed canvas jackets include hooded jackets and a waxed canvas trucker jacket. We also make light & dark gray and green & khaki waxed canvas vests with a sherpa collar.

Down Jackets & Vests

Our rugged leather down jackets and vests are available in both light brown leather and dark brown leather. The down insulation provides the warmth you need, and the 100% genuine lambskin leather is extraordinarily soft and wearable. The natural, lightweight layers of the lambskin give it a distinctive, velvety texture – it’s the ideal material for our men’s down jackets and vests.

Wool Jackets

Buffalo Jackson men’s wool jackets are lightweight and high-quality, keeping you warm without all of the bulk. Styles include our flannel-lined Wesley wool jacket with a more clean cut fit like a riding jacket, our heavyweight Ellis wool jacket with quilted interior and sherpa collar, and our Yukon wool shirt jacs

Fleece Jackets & Pullovers

Our men’s fleece pullovers are great for cool fall nights by the fire. They’re super soft, moisture-wicking, quick-drying, & they keep in the heat when temperatures plunge. For a cozy fit that’s soft and snug, there’s no beating our men’s fleece jackets and pullovers. Just picture a big bear hug (but less scary, more comforting).

MEN’S OUTERWEAR: CARE & CLEANING TIPS

Proper care is key to getting the most of any piece of outerwear, whether it’s made with leather, waxed canvas, or any other material. Follow these 5 basic steps for cleaning your jackets and vests:

*Always spot-check each step before proceeding with the full item!

1. Dust.

With a soft cloth, gently wipe away any exterior dust or oil buildup in a light circular motion.

2. Clean the inside.

Sweat buildup on the interior of your outerwear can eventually break down the jacket lining and compromise the exterior, so remember to clean the inside.

Create a gentle cleaning solution with two teaspoons of mild liquid detergent and warm water. Saturate a soft sponge or cloth in the solution; then wring it out so it’s damp, but not soaking wet. Reverse the jacket or vest so it’s inside-out, and then clean with the sponge/cloth. Pay close attention to the cuffs, collars, and underarms. Hang the jacket/vest while it’s still inside-out, and leave it to air dry. (Do not apply direct heat like from a hair dryer.)

3. Clean the outside.

*If the outside of your vest/jacket isn't dirty, skip to step 4.

You can clean the outside of your vest or jacket with the mild soap solution from step 2. Saturate a clean soft sponge or cloth in the solution; then be sure to wring it out so it’s damp, but not soaking wet. If your jacket or vest is made with leather, be sure to use as little moisture as possible. Blot the jacket, and if you’re cleaning leather, remember to feather your blots to avoid leaving watermarks. (Do not rub or scrub leather!)

4. Rinse

Use clean water to saturate a new cloth, wring out the excess, and gently wipe down the outside of your jacket/vest. (You want to remove any soap residue if you used a cleaning solution, and remember to use the smallest amount of moisture required if you’re cleaning leather.)

5. Dry

Finally, pat the jacket dry with a soft towel, and hang it somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight until it is completely dry. (Do not use direct heat like a hair dryer to try to speed up the drying time.)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What type of leather do you use for your jackets and vests?

We craft our leather outerwear using various types of high-quality leather, including lambskin, sheepskin, and cow leather. Each type offers unique properties like texture and appearance.

2. How does waxed canvas differ from regular canvas?

Waxed canvas boasts all the best features of regular canvas but is enhanced with a wax coating for improved wind resistance, water repellency, and a fine patina that develops over time.

3. Can I machine wash my Buffalo Jackson outerwear?

For best results and longevity of your outerwear, we recommend following our care and cleaning tips mentioned above. Machine washing, especially for leather and waxed canvas, is not advised.

4. Are there any special care instructions for the wool jackets?

While our wool jackets are high quality and durable, it's best to hand wash or dry clean them. This helps maintain the jacket's texture and prevents any potential damage or shrinkage.

5. What should I do if I get a stain on my jacket or vest?

Always start by spot-checking any cleaning method before applying to the entire garment. For specific stain treatments, refer to our cleaning tips above or consult a professional.

6. How do I choose the right size for my outerwear?

You can consult our size chart, or if you're unsure, feel free to reach out to our customer service team for guidance.

7. How long will it take for my leather jacket to develop a patina?

A patina is a natural process and depends on how frequently you wear your jacket and the conditions it's exposed to. Typically, with regular wear, subtle changes can be noticed in a few months, with a richer patina developing over years.
