Vallecito Lake sits just outside of Durango, Colorado in a secluded valley at 8,000 feet (Vallecito is Spanish for “little valley”). It is one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in the colorful state. Ask a roomful of people who’ve been there before and you’ll hear a common refrain bubble to the surface: It’s the most amazing blue.
When we were dreaming up the go-to summer shirt, we agreed it had to be built around a place and a primary color. Our choice? Durango, and that Vallecito blue. So that’s what we did, created a short-sleeved, western-yoked, 100% cotton, two-pocket perfect summer shirt. We offer it in a handful of plaids, all having a common stripe running through their patterns, shades of the most amazing blue. Check ‘em out and you’ll see. Better yet, buy one and then figure out how to make a trip to Durango this summer. Be sure to drive about 18 miles out of town, find that little valley, and witness the birthplace of blue.
